How To Draw Gyarados Pokemon
I hope you're ready for another Pokemon tutorial, because today we'll be learning how to draw Gyarados! Gyarados is the evolved form of Magikarp, and is arguably one of the coolest Pokemon in the series. So without further intro, grab a pencil and let's learn how to draw Gyarados!
Step 1
To get Gyarados started, we will first need to draw a circle for his head, with two dividing lines to help place his facial features.
Step 2
Next, draw Gyarados' top jaw long the horizontal line of his head.
Step 3
Now give Gyarados his bottom jaw and four small teeth in each corner of his mouth.
Step 4
Draw the large three-pointed crest on the front of Gyarados' head with a small triangular eye wedged between the crest and his top jaw.
Step 5
On each side of Gyarados' head, draw three large spikes.
Step 6
Next we will need to give Gyarados two small fins right underneath the spikes you drew in the previous step.
Step 7
Now that Gyarados' head is done we can begin to work on his body. Gyarados' body is made up of several round segments. Draw the first segment of his body right behind his head, with a small spike sticking out of it.
Step 8
Repeating the last step, continue drawing several circular segments until Gyarados looks long enough (about 15 or so segments). Make sure that each of Gyarados' body segments gets smaller toward the end.
Step 9
Draw four or five three-pointed fins on top of Gyarados' head and body.
Step 10
Gyarados' tail will be a 2-step process. To start with, draw three long spines at the end of his tail to form a trident.
Step 11
To finish Gyarados' tail, draw a jagged line connecting the spines to form a fin.
Step 12
We will finish up all the smaller details in one last step. Draw an oval shape on each of Gyarados' body segments, and a line in each one to divide the top from the belly. Also, give Gyarados two long, flowing whiskers on the sides of his mouth.
Step 13
Finally, give Gyarados some color. Like most water-type pokemon, Gyarados is primarily blue with the exception of his beige belly and spots. I hope you enjoyed learning how to draw Gyarados with me. Be sure to come back for plenty more tutorials, including lots more Pokemon. Happy drawing!
